Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The high demand for local soybeans is a challenge for the Kurnia Kitri Farm Farmers Group. To answer this need, the farmer group located at Jl Rajawali No. 10 Malang City developed local soybean seeds.
Head of Kurnia Kitri Farm Farmers Group Hari Soejanto revealed that currently his party is developing organic local soybeans. According to his confession, from several trials that have been carried out, the development is good and now all that remains is planting on a wider scale.
"These months we will develop local organic soybeans in Gunung Kawi, Gondanglegi, Kalipare and Donomulyo," said Hari, Monday (6/5/2019).
In contrast to soybeans in general which are planted with chemical fertilizers, Hari said that the organic soybeans developed by the Kurnia Kitri farming group are already... full organic. "Not only sold raw, in the future we are also preparing to sell organic soybeans in processed form," said Hari.
Some of the processed products that are planned to be made are organic tempeh, organic soy extract, organic soy milk. "If we sell it in the form of soybeans, there is a profit but not much. If it is in the form of processed products, the profit can be multiplied," said Hari.
In addition to soybeans, Hari admitted that currently the trend of demand for organic vegetables in the farmer groups he handles continues to increase. Especially vegetables that are needed for daily needs such as spinach, kale, long beans, carrots, lettuce, and others. (cah/yon)
