Jakarta (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Malang City, the Assistant for General Administration of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, the Head of the Malang City BPKAD, and the Head of Public Relations of the Malang City Regional Secretariat attended the 2019 National Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangnas) and the 2020 Government Work Plan held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (9/5/2019).
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that there are strategic issues that will be discussed and formulated as follows: guidance (guide) for the implementation of development in 2020. Pattern top down and bottom up which is combined and expected to be able to marry and harmonize the direction of development between the Center and the Regions.
"For the city of Malang, entry point which is very strategic, because Malang City is an important part of the movement and growth of development and the economy in East Java. Clearly we (Malang City) do not want to just watch and or be satisfied with the label of a city with a strategic role. And according to the message conveyed by the President to the region, Malang City has an important role in strengthening the creative economy industry," said Sutiaji on the sidelines of the 2019 Musrenbangnas.
The Malang Mayor, a badminton fan, sees the creative economy community in Malang City as having great potential. "Like the Startup Singo Edan (Stasion) Malang community. This community is able to gather hundreds of people every year startup. In accordance with the challenge given by President Jokowi to the regions so that the regions are not trapped in the development of conventional skills, the creative young generation of Malang City, some of whom are gathered at Stasion, have stepped forward and penetrated the world of Fintech, Design Principles, Automated Test and Animation for Industries. This indicates that the passion of the people of Malang City is very high for the digital industry, "he explained.
President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo when opening the 2019 Musrenbangnas emphasized that in developing education, regions should not be stuck in conventional approaches. Yes (nothing) should have been increased and strengthened for digital majors, expanding into technology Fintech, Design Principle, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and others. Accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, President Jokowi emphasized three things that must be done so that Indonesia can become a great country. Namely the first is equal distribution of infrastructure development, the second is bureaucratic reform, and the third is the development of human resources.
"I emphasize that without infrastructure development and if we do not do it, then we cannot jump far. Therefore, the Government is aggressively building toll roads, airports, connectivity between regions, connecting major roads with small roads, connecting with industrial areas, tourist areas and UMKM areas. All of that will be a strong driver of economic growth," explained the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.
In the field of bureaucratic reform, the President is pushing for institutional simplification, cutting down on licensing processes, dissolving and/or merging inefficient and burdensome BUMN (BUMD for regions), encouraging investment through ease of licensing.
"Imagine for investment permits, during the first year of leadership, there were 259 permits and it must have been complicated, and the process could take years. Now from 259 it has become 58 permits, and for me that is still too much. If necessary, 5 permits are enough," said President Jokowi.
The step to cut permits was taken because Indonesia still has a trade balance deficit, which means that exports and investment are not optimal.
Meanwhile, in the field of human resource development, apart from focusing on strengthening education link match, specifically emphasizing to the ranks of the Education Office (region) not to get caught up in routine budgets, there must be program innovation.
