Ramadan Safari at Al-Falah Mosque, This is What the Mayor of Malang Said

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government Ramadan Safari, Thursday (9/5/2019) was held at Al-Falah, Jl. Gadang, Malang City. On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, the Head of the Malang City PKK, the Assistant for Government and Social Welfare, the Head of the Malang City Population and Civil Registry Service, representatives of OPDs within the Malang City Government, and representatives from the Malang City Forkopimda.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji gave a speech during the Ramadan Safari at the Al-Falah Mosque

In his speech, Sutiaji appealed to residents to often come and perform worship at the mosque in order to receive blessings from all aspects of human life. "So the mosque is not only seen as a place of worship and prayer, but is a place to maintain our faith and piety to avoid the pit of sin," he said.

"Our mirror is the mosque. Because this mosque provides light and guidance to illuminate the darkness. This will make our hearts fresh again and do the work more lightly," he continued.

Sutiaji said that a person will be free from negative things such as envy, hatred, incitement and other negative things if they perform prayers at the mosque. He also said that by doing activities around from mosque to mosque during the month of Ramadan, he can avoid tired thoughts.

In the third Safari Ramadan, Malang Deputy Mayor Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko handed over the Malang City Baznas fund assistance to the mosque administrators. It is hoped that the mosques that receive assistance can become UPZ (Zakat Collection Unit) of Malang City Baznas as an extension of Malang City Baznas whose function is to collect and distribute ZIS funds in the mosque environment.
