Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, together with the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, the Regional Secretary of Malang City, Drs. Wasto, SH, MH, the Chairperson of the PKK of Malang City, Widayati, S.Sos, MM, and staff conducted their fourth Ramadan Safari at the Noor Mosque, Jl Prof. Moh Yamin, Klojen, Malang City, Friday (10/5/2019).
In his speech, the Mayor of Malang conveyed the importance of maintaining goodness and maintaining harmony between the Malang City Government and the community.
"Harmonization of relations is a strong point in building Malang City. For that, we are very grateful to the residents who have accepted us here. We hope this gathering can run well," he said.
On the other hand, Sutiaji said that community involvement has a vital role in the development of Malang City. For that, he wants the system in the Malang City Government to run transparently. Such as holding more discussion and dialogue events with the community.
"Dialogue with the residents is very necessary, because Malang City does not only belong to Sutiaji-Edi. But it belongs to all of us. We also need advice and input," he said.
He added that the revitalization of Pasar Besar has not been carried out because it is still under contract with Matahari Mall. He said that there is already a procedural agreement. "Many have asked me why Pasar Besar is not included in the revitalization. Yes, that is the answer, because Pasar Besar is still bound by contract. And this is what we are still mapping and completing," he said.
In this fourth round of Ramadan Safari, Malang Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi Jarwoko had the opportunity to hand over assistance from Malang City Baznas to mosque administrators. The hope is that the mosques we help can become UPZ (Zakat Collection Unit) of Malang City Baznas as an extension of Malang City Baznas whose function is to collect and distribute ZIS funds in the mosque environment.
