Malang (malangkota.go.id) – President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Malang-Pandaan (Mapan) Toll Road which was centered at the Singosari Toll Gate, Monday (13/5/2019).

At the inauguration of the Mapan Toll Road, President Jokowi was accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Ir. Mochamad Basoeki Hadimoeljono, M.Sc, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno, Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji, and Acting Regent of Malang Sanusi.
The toll road that was inaugurated and ready to operate is the section 1-3 with a length of 30,6 kilometers, from the targeted length of 38,4 kilometers. The rest, namely sections 4-5 with a length of 7,9 kilometers, was instructed by President Jokowi to be completed immediately within time.
With the opening of the Mapan Toll Road, President Jokowi hopes that Malang City, Malang Regency and Batu City or what is known as Malang Raya will become more advanced and developed.
"The main thing is that the education, tourism and industry sectors as the strengths of these three regions will continue to grow," added the seventh President of Indonesia.
"The operation of this toll road also connects it to Abdulrachman Saleh Malang Airport, where... runway"It will be extended up to 500 meters so that later the airport (Abd. Saleh) will be more ready and can become an international airport. Supported by transportation routes in this area, it will continue to strengthen various sectors in order to realize a just and prosperous society," continued President Jokowi.
After inaugurating and signing the inscription, President Jokowi reviewed the toll road that will soon be operational. At the initial opening, the Mapan Toll Road will be free until Eid al-Fitr, and then will be charged according to the applicable rates. (say/yon)
