Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) - Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji seems to be adding thematic village tourism in Malang City, this time the Tasikmadu Village area, Lowokwaru District will be the location for the construction of Arema Village.
"Arema Village is expected to be a thematic village that is different from other thematic villages. Not only in terms of the buildings, but also the customs there will all bring out the typical Malangan," said Sutiaji during an audience with Dukut Imam Widodo and team in the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room, Tuesday (14/5/2019).
Dukut Imam Widodo, who is the author of the book Malang Tempo Doeloe, was specially invited by the Mayor of Malang to present his ideas in developing Kampung Arema.
According to Sutiaji, it is hoped that Arema Village will be able to attract tourists who come to Malang City to come and visit and get to know more about the culture and characteristics of Malang City.
"Starting from the distinctive features of the building which is famous for pyramid, its traditional food, its arts and even its language guardian which has been a culture since long ago among the Mgalam monkeys (read: arek-arek Malang). All of that will be realized as a whole unit in Kampung Arema," he explained.
Meanwhile, Dukut Imam Widodo expressed his willingness to participate in building Malang City in order to preserve the existing culture. "This is a manifestation Corporate Heritage Responsibility which we will dedicate to the city of Malang," he said.
Also present at this audience were the Head of the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office, the Head of the Malang City Research and Development Agency, and the Head of Public Relations of the Malang City Regional Secretariat. (Ts/yon)
