Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – To improve the ties of friendship between ulama and umara in Malang City, the Malang City Government held a friendship forum at the Baiturrahim Mosque, Malang City Hall, Tuesday (21/5/2019) which was attended by the Mayor of Malang, the Chairperson of the Malang City MUI, all Malang City Forkopimda, and religious leaders.
In his speech, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, thanked the ulama-umara for the togetherness that has been built so far. Starting from the issue of the tauhid flag, the declaration of a certain candidate pair, to the issue of breaking the fast together that went viral.
"Yesterday we issued a circular not to eat demonstratively, which we feared would happen. In relation to the viral video, namely breaking the fast with alcohol, yesterday I called all management, both hotels and products," explained Sutiaji.
"This is why we need to communicate continuously. Hopefully we are among the servants of Allah SWT who are not hypocrites, because hypocrites like to make something that is not certain go viral," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the MUI of Malang City, KH Baidlowi Muslich, on this occasion of the gathering explained about good morals, and the role of ulama-umara is never free from guiding a good nation. "In this good sense, everything, including the economy, socio-culture and all that is good, at least the character," he said.
Regarding the presidential election, KH Baidlowi Muslich conveyed the importance of a leader. "This presidential election is a necessity. We as a nation cannot avoid choosing a leader. Choosing a leader is mandatory, because if there is no leader, there is no country and no nation," he explained further.
Whoever is elected as President of the Republic of Indonesia and becomes a leader, said KH Baidlowi Muslich, must be obeyed, prayed for, and loved.
"The best leader is one who is loved by his people. So the people must love their leader. In the future we hope to make Indonesia a country baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghafûr, abundant prosperity and prosperity", a safe and peaceful country with people who believe and fear Allah SWT," he concluded.
