Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Despite having to pass through narrow alleys and footpaths, the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, looked so happy when attending the Nuzulul Quran commemoration at the Darus Salam Mosque on Jl Muharto, Kedungkandang, Wednesday (22/5/2019).

On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi also handed over donations to orphans and the poor, as well as the elderly, before breaking the fast and praying Maghrib together.
The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi admitted that he was happy to be able to meet at the Darus Salam Mosque. He said that the opportunity to meet like this could not be separated from the grace and greatness of Allah SWT alone.
"This morning I just paid my respects at a friend's house. It was the husband who was sick, but it turned out that the wife died first," said Edi, Wednesday (22/5).
From the story that was told, the Deputy Mayor said that everyone can learn that humans have no power whatsoever. Whenever Allah SWT wills, what is entrusted to humans can all be taken.
"While we are still given the opportunity, position, and others, make the best use of it for good. Because we will never know when Allah will take it," he said.
In line with Bung Edi, Suryadi as the initiator of this activity also expressed his gratitude for the willingness of the number two person in the Malang City Government to attend the Darus Salam Mosque.
"Thank you very much for the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Malang. Thanks to him, our various programs in this village can become a reality," said Suryadi.
One of the programs that is currently very helpful for the community around the Darus Salam Mosque is the provision of solar powered lamps. The provision of this assistance makes this densely populated village brighter and no longer pitch black when entering this village.
"We hope that togetherness like this will continue, so that in the future the government and the community will join hands to build Malang City well," Suryadi hoped. (cah/yon)
