Bekraf Announces 10 Creative Districts/Cities in Indonesia in 2019

Jakarta, (20/06/2019) – Since 2016, the Independent Assessment of Creative Indonesian Districts/Cities (PMK3I) has been one of Bekraf's flagship programs. This program aims to map ecosystems, potential, best practice, and the problems of developing the creative economic system in districts/cities. PMK3I activities are carried out in a bottom up where the district/city government submits the request for verification by Bekraf.

The PMK3I activity itself consists of several stages of activities, each of which needs to be carried out by the district/city, starting from filling out forms by the four actors/creative economy actors, namely Academics, Businessmen, Communities, and Government or commonly abbreviated as ABCG, field random tests, signing of the random test report to monitoring activities.

To date, PMK3I has succeeded in attracting the attention of more than 300 districts/cities and more than 5000 (five thousand) creative actors who have filled out forms on the website. www.kotakreatif.id. It was recorded that 55 districts/cities have undergone random PMK3I testing from a total of 514 districts/cities in Indonesia.

In this series of activities, Bekraf designed a role model which can be used as a reference for districts/cities throughout Indonesia to become an ideal creative district/city. Through mentoring that is summarized in the activities Creative Regency/City (KaTa Kreatif).

On Tuesday (18/06), the Directorate of Physical Infrastructure Facilitation – Deputy of Infrastructure of Bekraf conducted an assessment of 10 nominations of Creative Regency/City that had conducted PMK3I spot checks in 2016-2018. The Regional Heads, Representatives of OPDs, and creative actors presented in front of the jury regarding the ecosystem of the creative economy sub-sector in the regency/city and short-term to long-term commitments. The judging was carried out by the Deputy Head of Bekraf, Ricky Joseph Pesik, Deputy of Infrastructure, Hari Sungkari, the Creative KaTa Team, the PMK3I Team, PMK3I Assessors, and Guest Judges consisting of experts, practitioners, and academics from various fields of expertise and sub-sectors of the creative economy.

Based on the Decree of the Head of the Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 83 of 2019 concerning Creative Districts/Cities in Indonesia in 2019, it is stated that:
