Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – As a concrete effort and commitment to the war on plastic waste, regulations related to reducing plastic waste continue to be pursued. The reason is, plastic waste that is difficult to decompose is one of the biggest triggers for environmental pollution.

That is what was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after the opening. Indonesia Green Growth & Sustainability Expo 2019 at Graha Cakrawala, State University of Malang, Wednesday (26/06/2019). Other efforts that will be made include instructing ASN to always bring and use drinking containers from home.
"We will also collaborate with universities in terms of making special tools that can break down and process plastic waste into useful items. The Malang City Government will also collaborate with the Malang Regency Government, as the land that will be used for the location is in the Malang Regency area," added the bespectacled man.
This cooperation, according to him, is proof of synergy between regions even though the procurement of equipment and funding will be from the Malang City Government. "The East Java Provincial Government will also be the big umbrella for this program, and will be communicated as well as possible," explained Sutiaji.
No less important, the Supit Urang TPA which is currently starting to over capacity will also be a special concern. "Every day no less than 500 tons of garbage come and its handling will be more intensive so as not to cause new problems," said Sutiaji. (say/yon)
