Malang City PUPR Task Force Normalizes Clogged Drainage

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – When there is a blockage or there is a report from the community regarding the blockage of water channels (drainage), personnel from the Task Force (Satgas) of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) of Malang City quickly respond and carry out normalization. Like some time ago there was a blockage of drainage on Jl. Brigjen Katamso, Jl. Panglima Sudirman and on Jl. Tutut in the Arjowinangun Village area.

DPUPR Task Force during water channel normalization

The Malang City DPUPR Task Force cleaned the drainage that was clogged with various types of household waste, such as plastic, paper and wood. The alertness of the DPUPR Task Force personnel deserves appreciation, because they moved quickly regardless of time and weather so that the community felt well served.

These are some of the things conveyed by the Head of Water Resources and Drainage of the Malang City PUPR, Ir. Bambang Nugroho, MT, Thursday (27/06/2019). Not only does it interfere with water channels, Bambang said that the various types of garbage also smell pungent. This is likely because the garbage that clogs the drainage has settled for too long.

"However, our officers worked as if there was no smell and in a short time were able to clean up the various types of garbage. Before being cleaned, according to local residents, when it rained, water overflowed onto the highway, causing puddles. This was quite disturbing to road users," Bambang added.

He further appealed to all residents of Malang City to have a clean and healthy lifestyle, one of which is by not throwing garbage into the water channels. Because if there is a flood or it causes a pungent odor, in the end the residents will also feel disadvantaged.

"Let's maintain the cleanliness and health of the environment together, because if we only rely on our cleaning staff, it is still not optimal," concluded Bambang. (say/yon)
