Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – As is known, the Kayutangan area is located in Jl. General Basuki Rahmat, Kauman, Klojen District, Malang City become a heritage tourism area. In this area, precisely in front of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, there is a historical monument, namely the Chairil Anwar Monument which has just been restored.
The monument to the famous literary figure will later be designated as a cultural heritage which will certainly bring pride to the city of Malang.
Those are some of the things conveyed by the Secretary of the Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB) of Malang City, Agung H. Bhuana, Thursday (04/07/2019). According to him, the Chairil Anwar Monument has extraordinary historical value, and will be designated as a cultural heritage this year.
Agung said that the Chairil Anwar Monument was initiated by H. Hudan Dardiri to honor Chairil Anwar as a poet around 1955. "The Medan-born poet had been to Malang City when attending the 5th Plenary Session of the Central Indonesian National Committee (KNIP) which later changed to the People's Representative Council (DPR) in 1947," he explained.
