Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The existence of Street Vendors (PKL) in Malang City who sell in places that are not intended for their intended use is still one of the problems that is taken seriously by the Malang City Government. As seen in several points in Malang City, street vendors are still found selling using sidewalks and even the roadside.

Street vendors who sell on the sidewalks that should be for pedestrians and even on the shoulder of the road will be given an appeal first by the Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) not to sell in inappropriate places, so they will not be immediately controlled. On the other hand, regarding this matter, the Malang City Satpol PP will also coordinate with the Malang City Trade Office.
That was conveyed by the Head of Satpol PP of Malang City, Drs. Priyadi, MM, Thursday (11/07/2019). Currently, Priyadi said that his party is still intensively coordinating with the Head of the Trade Service to find a solution related to street vendors. "Of course we don't immediately tell them to move if there is no other place for their new place to sell," he added.
"So the regulation must also be accompanied by the best solution so that it does not harm other parties and does not cause new problems. Later, the one who has more authority and knows more about organizing street vendors is from the Trade Office, because we are only an institution that enforces the regional regulation, and hopefully later there will be a solution in organizing the street vendors," continued Priyadi.
Furthermore, the bespectacled man said that the Satpol PP's street vendor control was also carried out routinely, such as in the Alun-Alun area, Jl Veteran, and around Malang City Hall. "With this routine activity, in the future it is hoped that it can provide understanding for street vendors not to sell in places prohibited by the Malang City Government so that it also does not disrupt the beauty of Malang City," concluded Priyadi.
