Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji received the Top 99 Public Service Innovation award directly from the Minister of PANRB Drs. Syafruddin M.Si at the Gumaya Hotel Ballroom, Semarang, Thursday (18/7/2019).

"I appreciate this achievement. Now the orientation of innovation is no longer just to bridge the presence of government programs, but is able to accommodate the needs of its environment. The tendency of character, culture, and 'millennial DNA', namely services that are increasingly fast, easy, easy, high accessibility," said Sutiaji.

The Top 99 Public Service Innovations in 2019 consist of 19 innovations from 12 ministries, 12 innovations from eight provincial governments, 21 innovations from 18 city governments, and the largest number is 27 district governments which created 41 public service innovations.

Innovations from Central Java were the most in this event. The Central Java Provincial Government produced three innovations. Meanwhile, the district/city governments in Central Java included 22 innovations in this prestigious event. That is why Semarang was chosen to host the award ceremony.

Those who were designated as the Top 99 Public Service Innovations were selected from 3.156 innovation proposals submitted online through the Public Service Innovation Information System (Sinovik) and then went through the administrative selection stage as well as the assessment of innovation proposals and documentation.

The innovators then had to go through a presentation and interview stage in front of an independent panel team to find the 45 best innovations. This stage was followed by field observations as evidence of the innovations presented.

Minister of PANRB Syafruddin in his speech emphasized that giving birth to innovation through a competition requires consistency and sustainability. "Therefore, regional incentive funds are provided for its maintenance, while also spurring the spirit of others to provide better services," he added.

Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said that to create innovation, one can see complaints from the public. "If there are public complaints, then responded to, then that's where innovation must be," he said.

Ganjar admitted that he encouraged every Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) in Central Java to serve the community by adopting an easy, cheap, fast, transparent and accountable service system.

Also attending the event were Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Deputy Minister of Finance Mardiasmo, Head of the State Administration Agency Adi Suryanto, President Director of Taspen Iqbal Lantaro, President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Fachmi Idris, Deputy Chief of East Java Police Brigadier General Toni Harmanto, and recipients of public service innovation awards.
