Currently, he said that his party is also coordinating with the East Java Provincial Trade Service and the Ministry of Trade.

"When we asked the traders, the traders could not confirm what the cause was. The traders only said that for now they cannot provide stock in large quantities. We are still investigating the scarcity of stock from farmers," he explained, Friday (19/07/2019).

According to Wahyu, the price of curly chilies was actually at a normal price, which was around Rp30 thousand per kilogram. However, in the last few weeks it has continued to climb, starting from Rp50 thousand to Rp70 thousand. "Actually, in economic principles it is like that, when demand increases the price becomes high and there is a shortage in the market," he said.

For the prices of other necessities, such as eggs, meat, oil and fish are still at normal prices. When asked whether he would hold a market operation, the friendly man could not confirm yet. "We are advised to coordinate with the institutions above us if there is a price fluctuation of a necessity in the market," he explained.

"From the results of coordination with the East Java Provincial Trade Office and the Ministry of Trade, a decision will definitely be taken. If a market operation must be carried out, then we will immediately follow up so that the public is not worried," concluded Wahyu. (say/yon)
