My City Program Completes 310,38 Ha of Slum Areas in Malang City

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Since its launch in 2015, the Slum-Free City Program (Kotaku) has been able to reduce and complete slum areas in Malang City covering an area of ​​310,38 Ha.

The Kotaku Coordinator Team of Malang City reported the progress of slum reduction to the Mayor of Malang

"According to existing data, the area of ​​slum areas in Malang City is 608,6 Ha (5 percent of the total area of ​​Malang City of 53 Ha). This means that by the end of 11.606, the remaining slum areas are 2018 Ha. This is what we will try to complete by the end of 298,22," said Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji after receiving the report from the Kotaku Coordinating Team of Malang City, Wednesday (2020/7/8).

“This is positive progress, and I ask for it to bepush "So that Malang City will have zero slum areas by 2020," added the Mayor of Malang.

Kotaku Program City Coordinator Arief Prasetya in his report informed the progress of slum reduction. In 2015, it was able to complete slum areas of 71,49 Ha. In 2016, it was reduced by 17,08 Ha, and in 2017-2018, it was able to reduce a maximum of 221,81 Ha.

"From the area of ​​slum areas (608,6 Ha at the beginning of the program_ed), the expanse is spread across 29 sub-districts in Malang City. With three location characters that become slum areas, namely riverside slums, railroad slums and city center slums," said Arief.

There are three areas of work that are often targeted and carried out in the Kotaku program, including improving the quality of environmental road surfaces, improving the quality of drainage construction, and wastewater management infrastructure and facilities.

As reported by the Kotaku Team, Malang City received funds in 2015 amounting to IDR 5 billion, 2016 amounting to IDR 5 billion, 2017 received IDR 4,7 billion, in 2018 received IDR 25,25 billion and in 2019 amounting to IDR 14,5 billion. (hms/yon)
