Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Starting from the desire to help children learn English more easily from an early age, a number of students from Malang State University (UM) collaborated to create a learning media for preschool children, namely LALA & LILO.

Team leader, Alif Hanifatur Rosyidah, said that LALA & LILO is an English story book based on an Android application for preschool children, an innovation for new learning media for preschool children.
In the future, this learning media will continue to be developed so that in addition to being for preschool age, it can also be used as a learning media for adults.
"The creation of this product after we conducted a field study in one of the kindergartens in East Java, where children had difficulty learning English. From that problem we finally collaborated to create LALA and LILO," explained Alif, Friday (9/8/2019).
With the LALA and LILO learning media, according to him, early-age children who are not yet familiar with reading and writing can learn more easily. Because when the book is opened and the android-based application is run, children can learn happily.
Using an android application as a sound output for this learning media has good security for preschool children. This is still added with an android application when opening each page of LALA and LILO which contains buttons that contain sounds to make it easier for preschool children to learn.
In line with Alif, a member of the LALA and LILO team, Hafisah Islami Rahmadina said that even though it has just been printed, this book has received extraordinary appreciation. Not only from teachers and parents of preschool children but also from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
“LALA and LILO is also one of the works that passed Indonesian Invention Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) so that it represents Indonesia in the 4th Istanbul International Invention Fairs ISIF 2019 competition," explained Nilna, the nickname of Hafisah Islami Rahmadina.
