Stone (malangkota.go.id) – The commemoration of Indonesian National Veterans Day held at the Graha Pancasila, Among Tani City Hall, Batu City, Tuesday (13/8/2019) was attended by the Governor of East Java, Commander of the V/Brawijaya Military Command, Mayor of Malang, Mayor of Batu, and Acting Regent of Malang.

The 64th Indonesian National Veterans Day in 2019 takes the theme LVRI Together with the Government and Society Ready to Continue the Inheritance of the Values of the Struggle of 45 to the Next Generation of the Nation.
National Veterans Day (HVN) is one of the nation's efforts to appreciate the heroes who have fought risking their lives and bodies for the independence of this country. The LVRI commemoration began with the reading of the Pancasila text by the Governor of East Java which was followed by 400 veterans in attendance.
East Java Governor, Khofifah Indar Parawansa advised Indonesian youth to respect the services of veterans. The way to do this is by playing an active role in development activities.
"The young generation must fight, help the nation together. If in the past they fought with their bodies and souls, in the future the young generation will fight with the same brain, muscle, and heart as this nation," he said.
The Chairman of the East Java LVRI DPD, H. Col. Marines (Ret.) Gatot Suharyoso conveyed a message for all LVRI members to be role models, pioneers in development and upholding the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
"LVRI must continue to serve this country, we must not disappear, we must continue to contribute positive thoughts to build our beloved country," said Gatot reading the speech of the Chairman of the DPP LVRI, Brigadier General TNI Ret. Drs Ismadi MBA MSi.
Meanwhile, Commander of the V/Brawijaya Military Region, Major General TNI R. Wisnu Prasetyo Budi, also said that the commemoration of the Indonesian National Veterans Day could increase enthusiasm and motivation in devotion to the nation and state.
"The soul and spirit of patriotism and the values of this struggle remain embedded in the souls of the veterans who are one of the pioneering components of the founding fathers of the Indonesian nation," he said. (EM/yon)
