Lowakwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji appealed to students studying in Malang to maintain unity and togetherness, as well as love for the homeland.
According to Sutiaji, this is one way to prevent inter-regional conflicts from occurring in this City of Education.
"Love for the homeland is the key to our unity. Indonesia has Pancasila and the Red and White flag that can unite us," said Sutiaji while giving a guest lecture at the Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) of the Faculty of Sharia at UIN Maliki Malang, Thursday (15/8).
He said that the spirit contained in Pancasila as the foundation of the state is the spirit of unity so that the nation is not easily divided by various interests.
"When this nation is strong and united, the nation's ideals to create social justice for all Indonesian people can be achieved," he stressed.
Bhumi Arema, Sutiai continued, also has a strong spirit of unity with its slogan Salam Satu Jiwa. This indicates that Malang residents really love unity and peace by minimizing conflict.
In addition, the Mayor of Malang also advised new students studying in Malang City to be able to adapt to the local culture and wisdom that is already embedded in the Malang City community.
"That way, students can mix and gain knowledge well and socialize with residents around campus," he said. (hms/yon)
