Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to welcome the 74th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the Malang City Government held a joint prayer at the Baiturrohim Mosque, Malang City Hall, Friday (16/08/2019).
The joint prayer which took place solemnly was attended by the Mayor of Malang, Deputy Mayor of Malang, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Malang City, representatives of interfaith figures, heads of OPDs, community leaders, community organizations, and youth.
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, on this occasion conveyed many messages regarding maintaining the unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Mayor of Malang said that in fact the enemy of the Indonesian nation who also threatens unity comes from within the Indonesian nation itself.
"There is a group of individuals who are not happy if Indonesia is safe and conducive, so they use various methods to divide," he said.
Therefore, the bespectacled man invited us to foster unity and nationalism from the smallest part, namely the family or each of us individually.
Thus, later from this smallest group, a large positive virus will spread, so that unity and harmony between people are well maintained.
"Let us start by developing a sense of nationalism and patriotism in each family, and it will surely bear sweet fruit," he said.
"The role of parents, the environment, religious figures and the community cannot be separated from the formation of a person's character. Although some time ago there was intrigue in Malang City, thanks to the alertness of TNI-Polri personnel and various elements of society, currently nothing worrying has happened. The unity of ulama and umara is also an important factor in maintaining the integrity and sovereignty of a region," explained Sutiaji.
Accompanied by interfaith prayers, the friendly man hopes that Indonesia will be better in the future and all its people can fill independence with positive things.
"Great hopes are in the hands of the young generation as the future leaders of the nation. Related to this, the family is a major determining factor in forming and giving birth to quality future leaders," concluded Sutiaji. (say/yon)
