Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In welcoming the 74th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji never ceased to invite all components of the nation to continue to strengthen unity.
According to him, Indonesia is a great nation and has various cultural riches and natural potential that other nations do not have.
This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after holding a wreath-laying event at the TRIP Heroes Monument on Jalan Pahlawan TRIP, Malang City, Friday (16/08/2019).
The bespectacled man added, if not us and the future generations who guard the sovereignty of this nation, then who else.
"What needs to be continuously remembered and internalized is that the independence we feel today is inseparable from the struggle and sacrifice of the heroes, including the Indonesian Student Army or TRIP. These young people once fought side by side to expel the colonizers from this Motherland, so it is only right that we pay our respects," added Sutiaji.
Especially for Malang City, he explained, it can be imagined if the young generation in this city has high nationalism and fighting spirit. "One proof is the TRIP struggle which is a source of pride for all of us. Therefore, the struggle of the previous youth must be continued by the current generation," he added.
The Mayor of Malang also invited all components of the nation to emulate the spirit and fighting spirit of the heroes who died for the sake of upholding the Red and White.
"As the next generation, let us be proud and make these fighters happy, for all their great sacrifices so far until Indonesia achieved independence," he said.
"Scattering flowers like this is only a small part of a tribute to the nation's heroes. The most important thing and must continue to be done is to fill independence well, maintain the nation's sovereignty and strengthen unity, so that in the future Indonesia will be better in various aspects of life," concluded Sutiaji.
