Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – There was something interesting in the 2019 Technology Innovation Competition (Inotek) Award held by the Malang City Planning, Research and Development Agency (Barenlitbang), Thursday (29/08/2019).

Of the winners of the 2019 Inotek Competition, there were two innovators who were students of MTsN 1 Malang, namely Dania Wijayanti and Rizqina Faizana. The extraordinary work that brought them 1st place in the 2019 Inotek in the Agribusiness category was the innovation Logan Rice.
Dania said Logan Rice is an abbreviation of Low Glycemic and High Nutrition Analog Rice. This is an innovation of nutritious analog rice with low glycemic based on ganyong, spinach and tiwul as a food diversification in Indonesia.
"Logan Rice also has superior nutritional content compared to rice. This rice also has a low glycemic so it is safe for diabetics to consume," explained Dania, Thursday (29/8/2019).
In addition to being suitable for diabetics with its high nutritional content, Dania said that Logan rice is also very suitable for people who are on a diet.
"Before we could find the composition as it is now, we conducted various trials and research for four months. Alhamdulillah after going through various long stages, we have now found good results," said Dania.
Dania admitted that in addition to the hard work of both of them, this success is inseparable from the many literatures obtained at school. The many literatures made it easier for her to conduct experiments, trials and research.
"Seeing the good results of this discovery, we hope that it can continue to be developed in the future. If possible, patent it before mass production," said Dania.
In line with Dania, Rizqina is also very happy that Logan Rice was able to achieve an achievement in the Malang City Inotek Competition. This success made this ninth grade student even more enthusiastic about conducting research.
"Logan Rice is made with easily available ingredients, and is processed faster than regular rice," said Rizqina.
Rizqina also hopes that Logan Rice's innovation can provide benefits, as an alternative to diversifying the processing of local agricultural commodities, a source of staple foods and can open up new job opportunities for the community.
"Through this finding, we also hope to help the government succeed in the food diversification program," said Rizqina. (cah/yon)
