Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Farewell Night of the Malang City Police Chief was held at the Ijen Suites Ballroom, Jl. Ijen Nirwana Raya, Malang City, Friday night (30/8/2019).
The new Malang City Police Chief, AKBP Dony Alexander, replaces AKBP Asfuri who has been promoted to Deputy Director of Samapta Polda Metro Jaya. Previously, AKBP Dony Alexander served as Director of Criminal Investigation of Polda Riau.
The handover procession was previously carried out at the Patuh Building, East Java Regional Police Headquarters, Wednesday (28/8/2019) led by the East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Luki Hermawan.
The Mayor of Malang, Dr. H. Sutiaji, was present at the Farewell Night of the Malang City Police Chief and the Malang City Forkopimda as a form of support for the change of leadership in the Malang City Police.
"Nine hundred and seventeen thousand residents of Malang City express their thousands of thanks to Mr. Asfuri, God willing, Arema is our home," said the Mayor of Malang starting his speech.
"Welcome Mr. Dony Alexander. We all know how competent AKBP Dony Alexander is, hopefully Malang can be free from drugs, because I feel sorry for the children here, studying but because of cultural acculturation and cultural assimilation. I hope Malang will be free from drugs," said Sutiaji.
In addition, according to Sutiaji, the sense of togetherness and brotherhood that has been established so far in order to realize the conduciveness of Malang City and Malang Raya has also been well-established.
Meanwhile, AKBP Asfuri in his speech also said that during his stay in Malang City, there were many unforgettable memories, one of which was the high level of concern for others possessed by all existing components.
"It's hard to leave Malang. The people are friendly, harmonious and easy to accept anyone who is here. This is what makes it comfortable. If it can be five years, it's okay, I want to stay here for a long time," he said, greeted by applause from the invited guests who were present that night.
At the Farewell Night for the Malang City Police Chief, AKBP Dony Alexander as the new Malang City Police Chief conveyed his commitment.
"Please pray for everyone's blessing so that Mr. Asfuri can continue his duties to be able to carry out the mandate, cooperate, communicate, collaborate in providing services, security and order in the Malang City area," said AKBP Dony. (EM/yon)
