Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The socialization of the Anti-Corruption Education Insertion held in the Malang City Hall Meeting Room, Saturday (7/9/2019) was one of a series of activities for the 2019 KPK Bus RoadShow - Explore the Country Building Anti-Corruption in Malang City.
Targeting elementary/junior high/senior high school PPKn teachers throughout Malang City, the event was opened by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji. He emphasized that character education is an important foundation for building an anti-corruption culture. That is also what Malang City does through non-reading, writing and arithmetic education and strengthening the character of grade 1 and 2 elementary school students.
Character education, said Sutiaji, must be strengthened, because humans are naturally greedy, feeling less and less. According to him, this nature is what gives rise to corrupt behavior.
"So locking it is by strengthening character. Basically, children are pure white, what they become is determined by their environment. This means it is our shared responsibility. Therefore, I entrust character education and the white nature of children to be maintained, because they are our assets in the future," he said.
The badminton enthusiast also reminded that the spirit of building anti-corruption should continue to be fostered and encouraged. He added that to strengthen the character education program, the Mayor of Malang will later take turns in office in five sub-districts in Malang City.
"In addition to direct monitoring of public services in the region, it will also be used to monitor the development of character education in existing schools," explained Sutiaji.
Presenting speakers from the ranks of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Committee, the event that was held was also increasingly lively with messages of character building, in line with the holding of storytelling activities on the art and cultural attraction stage in the yard of Malang City Hall.
