Strengthening Commitment, Malang City Optimistic to Regain Swasti Saba Wistara Predicate

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government is optimistic about maintaining the Swasti Saba Wistara predicate, the highest predicate in the health sector in 2019. This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji after receiving the National Healthy City Verification Team in the Meeting Room of the Malang City Hall, Monday (9/9/2019).

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, gave a speech

The Mayor of Malang said that the indicators for achieving the title of a healthy city are quite numerous and cross-sectoral. He gave examples of several indicators assessed by the team, namely those related to air pollution, non-communicable diseases, waste, and the government's commitment to health and creating healthy areas.

"There are so many indicators towards a Healthy City. We have almost fulfilled all of those indicators," said Sutiaji.

It was also explained that one of the assessments for achieving a Healthy City is the sanitation program, especially Open Defecation Free (ODF). In this regard, the government's commitment has been shown by the existence of a program to eradicate this as stated in the Malang City Budget. "Including the Slum-Free City (Kotaku) program, we also continue to intensify it," he said.

Another indicator according to the Mayor of Malang that is no less important is the percentage of life expectancy in Malang City. So far, life expectancy is still relatively high because various programs in the health and environmental fields are running well.

Based on these various indicators, the Malang City Government is optimistic that this year it can again win the highest award in the health sector by achieving the Swasti Saba Wistara predicate. (hms/yon)
