Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – To help improve the skills of residents of RW 1, Gadingkasri Village, Malang City in the field of orchid cultivation, the Community Group (Pokmas) of Gadingkasri Village, Klojen District, Malang City held training at the Gadingkasri Village Office, Wednesday (11/9/2019).
Head of the Gadingkasri Urban Village Community Group Joko Santoso said that RW 1 Gadingkasri is currently very serious about building an orchid village. In every house, residents plant orchids not only to decorate the house but also to make the surrounding environment cooler and more beautiful.
"We hope that this training activity will make Gadingkasri residents more adept at cultivating orchids. In the future, this will continue to be developed so that it can become a community business," Joko hoped, Wednesday (11/9).
Joko added, in RW 1 Gadingkasri, an educational tourism business of an orchid village has been pioneered. With this training, it is hoped that in the future this pioneering business can grow and be sustainable.
"This is a community empowerment program in Gadingkasri Village. This activity is very good for inviting residents to build creative and productive businesses," explained Joko.
Although the training was short, various training materials were given to residents. Starting from taking orchids from bottles, planting in trays, planting in pots and displaying for sale.
The types of orchids currently cultivated are dendrobium orchids and moon orchids, because in addition to being relatively easy to care for, dendrobium orchids and moon orchids have high economic value. (cah/yon)
