Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Malang City Education Office held a Socialization of Malang Mayor Regulation Number 45 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Education at the Pertamina Building of SMKN 2 Malang City, Wednesday (18/9/2019). This socialization was attended by school committees and principals from elementary to junior high school levels throughout Malang City totaling approximately 500 people.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji in his speech said that Perwal No. 45 of 2019 was created to instill anti-corruption behavior as early as possible, and the government has the responsibility to implement it.
Schools and committees, he said, have a big role in instilling anti-corruption behavior in their environment. The difference between public goods and private goods must be firmly instilled since childhood. "There must be a strong barrier between private rights and public rights," he said.
The Mayor of Malang also initiated the idea of having a guardian orientation for students. The importance of the mentoring process carried out by parents that is in line with the learning methods in special character building schools.
A simple example is by instilling the way children kiss their parents' hands properly, not on their foreheads or cheeks. Parents or teachers must also support by cleaning their hands first. "Small things will become big when they become a habit," he added.
Corruption will continue and will never end if the understanding is doing good because of fear of being seen, should be afraid of doing evil because of pity for oneself. The ideal condition is to do good because of love for oneself and not do evil because of love for oneself.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Education Office, Dra. Zubaidah, MM, said that this regulation originated from the President's instructions which were then followed up by the Governor and then by the mayor and regent.
The aim of anti-corruption education is to instill anti-corruption values and attitudes to the extended family of the world of education, starting from educators, students, school committees and the community who care about education.
"We as the implementers in the field are implementing to make regulations so that the fathers and mothers in educational institutions in particular can be guided by which will eventually be able to implement according to the rules and regulations," he explained. (EM/yon)
