Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP, Widayati, S.Sos, MM, encouraged Malang City residents to be creative in utilizing the land they own for farming.
Widayati expressed her enthusiasm for farming when she visited urban farming in RW 7, Penanggungan Village, Klojen District, Malang City with the Mayor of Malang, Thursday (26/9/2019).
Widayati said she would continue to encourage residents tourban farming so that we can at least meet the needs and nutrition of each family.
"We are happy to be able to attend and see firsthand how active RW 7, Penanggungan Subdistrict, is in its...urban farming. Hopefully activities like this can be carried out in all areas of Malang City," Widayati hoped, Thursday (26/9).
In addition to the vegetables and fruit produced being healthier and fresher, the urban farming model also makes the environment more beautiful and comfortable to live in.
Planting techniques in urban farming including using pots and polybags, aquaculture, hydroponics, and aquaponics.
One of the residents of RW 7, Muhammad Amin said there is a special happiness when planting vegetables, fruits and making aquaponics around his house. "The vegetables we plant are also organically cared for, they taste better and are healthier," said Amin. (cah/yon)
