Welcome Speech by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji

Until now, in the Malang City Government, there are already around 15 out of 22 Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) that have implemented online-based services. Some of these OPDs include the Education Office, Health Office, Transportation Office, Culture and Tourism Office and the Environmental Agency.

Some of these things were conveyed by the Head of the Communication and Informatics Service (Kominfo) of Malang City, Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si in the Smart City Socialization and Technical Guidance event held at the Aria Gajayana Hotel, Thursday (26/09/2019). Of the 15 OPDs, he said that the services of three OPDs have been integrated with other OPDs and even with the Mayor of Malang.

"The three OPDs are BP2D, Education Office and Dispendukcapil. By the end of this year, there will be at least five more OPDs that will do the same thing. As a driving agency, in the future the Kominfo Office will encourage other OPDs to maximize their online services," added Yani.

He added that later there will also be reward and punishment from the Mayor of Malang for OPDs with maximum performance. "From the Department of Communication and Information, AIKID is always held every year as a form of appreciation for OPDs whose services and performance are above average," explained the woman in the hijab.

In relation to this, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, said that in the future, the performance of OPDs must be better. For those whose performance is low, he explained, there will definitely be punishment, such as the imposition of black vests on ASN who do not perform well and black flags will be placed on OPDs with low budget absorption and productivity.

"We are still drafting the mayoral regulation on this matter and it will be implemented soon. So far, there may only be reward and many institutions sometimes ignore it punishment. Actually, both are one unit, because whatever we do will be held accountable,” explained the bespectacled man.

What the Mayor of Malang said was responded to well by Main Expert Lecturer of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Heri Abdul Aziz which is also the smart city mentoring team for Malang City.

"We should not only see the black vest from the negative side. Basically, when we achieve, there will definitely be appreciation, and vice versa. I think that is natural and appropriate," he said. (say/yon)
