Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – After the success of the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2019 and Blibli Indonesia Open 2019, Indonesia is once again holding a prestigious international badminton tournament, the YUZU Indonesia Masters 2019. The tournament, which is part of the BWF World Tour Super 100, was held from 1 to 6 October 2019 at the Ken Arok Sports Hall, Malang.

This super 100 level tournament has been held for the second time in Indonesia. In 2018, this tournament was held in Bangka Belitung Province with the title Bangka Belitung Indonesia Masters 2018. In 2019, YUZU Indonesia Masters competed for a total prize of USD75.000 and was followed by 281 players from 15 countries, including China, Japan, Thailand, India and many more.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Achmad Budiharto, Monday (30/09/2019) said that the preparation for the 2019 YUZU Indonesia Masters is almost complete. Both at the Ken Arok Sports Hall as the match field and the Djagung Sports Hall which is used as a training field.
"Both GORs are in the finishing stage, in Ken Arok GOR, cooperation between the local government team, the city government team and the committee team has made it possible to resolve existing obstacles on time, especially the main problem is the cleanliness of the toilets," said Budiharto.
"Meanwhile, yesterday at the Djagung Sports Hall, there were several problems identified, such as the field which turned out to be made of tiles so it had to be covered with plywood before the carpet was laid. In addition, the addition of lights and electricity was also a note. But we have completed all of that and tomorrow everything will be ready clear and ready to use," he said.
Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji admitted that he was proud and expressed his gratitude for the selection of Malang City as the host of the YUZU Indonesia Masters 2019. "Thank you to the relevant parties who have entrusted Malang City to host the YUZU Indonesia Masters 2019 badminton tournament," said the Mayor of Malang.
"Previously, Malang was appointed as the host and the event was successful. This time, appointed again, we are ready. Of course, Malang will give the best welcome to world badminton players," said Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, the Head of the East Java PBSI Provincial Management, Oei Wijanarko Adi Mulya, is optimistic that the 2019 YUZU Indonesia Masters tournament will be a success in Malang because this tournament will carry the sportainment theme which will not only present world-class badminton matches but also a food and entertainment bazaar such as live music and others. This is a special attraction for the audience who attend directly at GOR Ken Arok.
"Our hopes for this tournament include three aspects, first is successful planning and implementation. Second is successful achievement, and third, hopefully this tournament will provide benefits for the host, especially the people of Malang," Wijanarko hoped.
The hope was that this tournament could be used as a trial event and to gain experience for the young athletes who were sent to this tournament.
