Jakarta (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City has once again made various proud achievements. Yesterday, Wednesday (2/10/2019) Malang City won three awards in a row.

The first is the Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) award received directly by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji at the Ministry of Health, the second is the Regional Government Financial Report award with the Fair Without Exception (WTP) category received by Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, and the third is the National ProKlim Village Award won by RW 07, Tlogomas Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City.
The National ProKlim Village Award was presented by the Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK), Siti Nurbaya Bakar to the Head of RW 07, Tlogomas Village, Sutrisno Atim at the Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Jakarta (2/10/2019).
The Climate Village Program (ProKlim) itself is a national program developed by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry to encourage active participation of the community and all parties in implementing local actions to increase resilience to the impacts of climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The criteria assessed nationally are mitigation actions, adaptation actions, and recovery actions. resilient (food security, disaster anticipation, and health), community participation in environmental conservation.
RW 07 Tlogomas Village received the 2019 Main Proklim Award for meeting all criteria, including mitigation actions through planting carbon-absorbing plants (bamboo plant conservation), flora biodiversity, waste sorting, having a communal IPAL for domestic waste, and environmentally friendly programs cultivated at the RW level.
At the adaptation action level, RW 7 has had/built many infiltration wells for water conservation. While in the resilient/toughness action, RW 07 Tlogomas has had a climate change disaster emergency response system, has an urban farming center, has many health cadres who are responsive to the phenomenon of climate change, and is able to build active participation of all segments of society at the RW level for environmental conservation programs.
In a different place, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, expressed his appreciation and congratulated all residents of RW 07, Tlogomas Village for their achievements.
"The Malang City Government expresses its gratitude and appreciation for the real work and contributions given by the residents, so that Malang City's name is once again fragrant on the national stage. More than that, this further emphasizes how strong the role and active participation of the community is in the pace of development in Bhumi Arema. This is also a concrete manifestation of the pentahelix steps on the city's development roadmap," said Sutiaji.
For local governments, the National ProKlim Village Award is a reflection of the success of fostering climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts at the grassroots level. (hms/yon)
