Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – After successfully becoming runner up at the 2019 Energy Efficient Car Contest (KMHE), the Universitas Brawijaya (UB) team was not easily satisfied. They will compete at a bigger level, namely the 2020 Shell Eco Marathon championship held in Malaysia.

Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Engineering UB, Dr. Eng. Ir. Denny Widyanuriyawan, ST confirmed after appearing in the KMHE event, the UB team is currently focused on appearing in the Malaysian championship. In the neighboring country, UB will appear in the Urban MPD Ethanol and Urban Electric categories.
"The experience of performing at KMHE yesterday was a good preparation before performing in Malaysia," explained Denny, Thursday (3/10/2019).
Denny added, the achievements shown by the combination of students majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering are very good evaluation materials. This is an important capital to be able to increase innovation of energy-efficient cars that are faster and more efficient.
In the 2019 KMHE championship, the UB team won several champions in the five-day championship held at the State University of Malang (UM). UB sent four fuel-efficient cars, three cars, and UB won four titles so that it could occupy second place after the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya.
Four teams sent by UB in KMHE won first place in Prototype MPD Diesel (Appatte 62 Brawijaya Team 3). First place in Urban MPD Ethanol (Appatte 62 Team 4). Third place for Urban Electric class (Appatte Elang Perkasa Team 1)), and won fourth place Apatte 62 Brawijaya in Prototype Electric (Appatte Team 2). (cah/ram/yon)
