Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Commission C of the Malang City DPRD together with the Head of the Malang City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR), Ir. Hadi Santoso and his staff went down to see firsthand the condition of the cracked Muharto Bridge, Tuesday (8/10/2019).

On the west side of the Muharto Bridge, there are visible cracks, so currently, in addition to installing supports, large vehicles with a tonnage of more than three tons are also prohibited from crossing the Muharto Bridge area for the time being.
Chairman of Commission C of the Malang City DPRD, Fathol Arifin admitted that the condition of the Muharto Bridge is very worrying. From the forensic results that have been carried out, the strength of the Muharto Bridge is only 40 percent left. "If conditions like this are allowed to continue, it will certainly be more worrying," said Fathol, Tuesday (8/10).
Muharto resident Ari Setyawan said he was worried that the Muharto Bridge would collapse at any time. This is because the traffic flow on Jl. Muharto is so dense every day.
"Moreover, now that the rainy season is approaching, we are worried that when heavy rain comes, the river will flood and the bridge will collapse," said Ari.
Ari also hopes that there will be immediate action to repair the bridge so that it does not endanger local residents or road users passing by. (cah/yon)
