In relation to this, the KPK admitted that it has obtained data on taxpayers and potential tax revenues in each region. So that recommendations are issued to the regions, such as in terms of improving regulations and database taxpayers and potential taxes that will become regional original income.

This was conveyed by the Coordinator of the KPK Region 5 East Java, Asep Rahmat Suwanda, Wednesday (09/10/2019) at the Balava Hotel, Malang City when delivering material in the Socialization/FGD of the Corruption Prevention Program and Increasing Regional Taxes Through Online Systems.

In this activity, a result of cooperation between the Malang City Government and the Korsupgah KPK RI, Asep gave his appreciation to the Malang City Government for implementing online tax payments.

Asep said that the various data held by the KPK regarding regional taxes were the result of collaboration with many parties, such as Bank Jatim, the National Land Agency and the Directorate General of Taxes.

"For tax transparency, out of 38 regencies/cities in East Java, 32 regions have installed special tools to monitor transactions at tax objects," he explained.

Asep further said that Malang City had asked the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) to install 250 units of equipment to monitor these transactions, which would later be installed in hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.

"Through this method, it will be possible to suppress and prevent tax leakage or manipulation which will ultimately harm the region and the country," he stressed.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji agreed with the program so that in the future the Original Regional Income (PAD) of Malang City which is mainly sourced from tax revenue will be maximized.

"To realize it, not only a good and improved system, but there must also be high compliance from taxpayers. What also needs to be instilled is that paying taxes is an obligation," concluded Sutiaji. (say/yon)
