Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) of Malang City in collaboration with several parties such as the Financial Services Authority and the Malang City Government provided mentoring for young people which was held at the Loteng Café, Malang City, Thursday (10/10/2019).

Through the Literacy Corner – Planning Millennial Finances, these young people are encouraged and will be facilitated to become technopreneurs.
Director of Economic and Maritime Information and Communication, Directorate General of Public Information and Communication, Ministry of Communication and Information, Septriana Tangkary conveying that the future of Indonesia is determined by the current generation.
"Therefore, as the next generation of the nation, we must be creative and innovative, especially in utilizing various sophisticated information technologies," he added.
All of that can no longer be postponed and must be started from now on. Being a student or college student should not be an excuse not to be creative, because there are already many young people who are successful and utilize technology. Like the owners of well-known online buying and selling services that can be used as a reference or trigger to advance for today's young people.
Likewise, financial planning, which will be a determining factor for the future, cannot be ignored, he said.
"As creative young people, don't always hope to become employees and ask your parents for money, because both of these things will kill creativity and mindset," he stressed.
In 2020, Septriana added, the Government is targeting state revenue from the digital economy sector of USD 130 billion or equivalent to Rp1.979 billion. If the target is realized well, then Indonesia will stand on par with other developed countries.
"Therefore, various parties such as local governments must facilitate young people to become independent young entrepreneurs," he continued.
A similar statement was delivered by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, who was also appointed to open the Literacy Corner event. According to him, in accordance with the demands of the times, not only young people, but all citizens are currently required to be more creative in anything.
"The progress of information technology has been extraordinary. So for those who do not follow its development and are not directly involved, they will only be spectators. Therefore, everyone must be creative in order to become a player, and win the competition," concluded Sutiaji. (say/yon)
