In this regard, education about taxation is needed for all levels of society so that awareness grows that paying taxes is an obligation. In addition, negative perceptions about taxes should be thrown away, such as the opinion that paying taxes is only for big businessmen.

That was what was conveyed by the Indonesian Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati when giving a guest lecture at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Thursday (10/10/2019). In addition to continuing to improve tax education, the Minister of Finance said that exchanging information with other countries is also considered important.

Minister Sri Mulyani also explained the APBN sourced from tax revenues, such as the health budget of Rp132 trillion or 5,2 percent of state spending. In more detail, one of the allocations is intended for residents who are participants in receiving contribution assistance through JKN-KIS 96,8 million people with a budget allocation of Rp48,8 trillion.

What also needs to be known, he continued, is that the 2020 State Budget for improving the welfare of low-income, poor and vulnerable poor people is IDR 373,2 trillion. For increasing agricultural productivity in the form of fertilizer subsidies of IDR 26,6 trillion which are allocated for 16,2 million farmers.

At this moment, the Minister of Finance also invited young people to become the driving force in terms of tax compliance by helping to socialize the importance of paying taxes.

"From tax revenues, it will also be returned to the community in the form of development and various assistance, and this is what needs to be understood by various parties," concluded the bespectacled woman. (say/yon)
