Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Under the guidance and direction of Agus Sunandar as a lecturer in fashion design, a number of students from the State University of Malang (UM) came up with a creative idea, namely making and displaying clothes made from tempeh chips. In collaboration with tempeh chips UMKM, the idea was welcomed positively by the UM campus.

As a result, Thursday (10/10/2019), the creative idea creation was demonstrated by 16 models at Graha Cakrawala UM and bore sweet fruit. Not only unique and won an award from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) at the national level, but also an international class award.
Senior Executive Manager of MURI, Sri Widayati, after handing over the MURI plaque, said that this creative idea in the form of clothing made from tempeh chips was the first of its kind.
"Because the basic ingredients are from typical Malang City food and are originally from Indonesia, MURI also gave a world-class award," he added.
MURI also admitted that it is not just about giving awards, but more about spurring and exploring various community creativity which will later become a source of shared pride.
This unique fashion made from tempeh chips, which used 150 kilograms of chips or 12.428 pieces of tempeh chips, created by students from the Industrial Technology Department, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Malang, was recorded as the 9.216th record in MURI.
Agus Sunandar, who is also the chairman of the event committee, said that his party wanted to explore the creativity of students and the general public through this event, especially in fashion.
"In addition, we also want to raise and prove to the public that tempeh can not only be processed into various foods, but can also be made into unique clothing for competitions," he concluded. (say/yon)
