Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Two months have passed, the Sunset Policy program has not been wasted by the people of Malang City. Residents of Bhumi Arema apparently do not want to miss the Urban Land & Building Tax (PBB) fine amnesty program.

From the data collected by the Regional Tax Service Agency (BP2D) of Malang City, it was recorded that 3.832 Taxpayers (WP) have utilized the program titled Sunset Policy IV. The realization value reached Rp2.415.161.389,-.
"For Malang City residents who still have arrears and have not fulfilled their PBB payment obligations, do not waste the opportunity while the Sunset Policy program runs for another month," appealed Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji.
Sunset Policy IV will last for three months, starting on August 17, 2019 to celebrate the 74th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence and ending on November 17, 2019 in a series of commemorations of Heroes' Day.
By utilizing the Sunset Policy program, Urban PBB Taxpayers receive relief in the form of elimination of administrative sanctions or fines for late payment of PBB that has not been paid since the 1990s until the period 2018.
The method is simply by making a payment at any Bank Jatim counter by bringing the SPPT PBB this year or the previous year. The data is then directly inputted by the officer at the payment location.
Due to the high level of public interest, as well as the large potential and benefits to be gained, BP2D is striving to ensure that the Sunset Policy program in the future does not only include the elimination of PBB fines, but also applies to other regional taxes.
"We have reviewed and are finalizing the regional regulation so that the Sunset Policy in the future will also apply to other regional taxes besides PBB. Intensive communication is being carried out with the province and awaiting the decision of the Governor of East Java," explained the Head of BP2D Malang City, Ir. H. Ade Herawanto, MT.
For your information, in addition to increasing regional tax revenue in real terms, the Sunset Policy has been proven to increase potential PBB revenue in the future, because this policy stimulates asset owners to take advantage of the tax relief period.
The implication is that assets that have been ownerless are now known to their owners. In the future, they will also pay their tax obligations more orderly because they are not burdened with arrears.
In addition, this Sunset Policy also provides new awareness to the public so that they do not need to cover up or keep their asset ownership secret from the reach of tax authorities. Because in the end, the amount of payment will accumulate along with the fines.
"That way, if so far there are still many taxpayers whose addresses and tax objects are not monitored, now they can be tracked so that in the following years they will become active and tax-compliant taxpayers," said Sam Ade d'Kross, the nickname of the Head of BP2D. (hms/yon)
