Senior Commissioner Leonardus Simarmata Officially Takes Position as Malang City Police Chief

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The inauguration and change of the type of Malang City Police to Malang City Police and the handover of the Malang City Police Chief were carried out at the Malang City Police Headquarters, Thursday (28/11/2019).

Senior Commissioner Leonardus Harapantua Simarmata Permata, S.Sos. SIK, MH officially replaced Senior Commissioner Dony Alexander as the Malang City Police Chief.

East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General. Pol. Drs. Luki Hermawan, M.Si led the handover ceremony directly. In his speech, Inspector General Luki expressed his appreciation to the Malang City Government for its support so far, especially the Mayor of Malang in encouraging the change of the type of Malang City Police to Malang City Police.

"I entrust the Malang City Police to the Forkopimda Plus and the Coordinator in the Malang City area because without their support the police will not move up a level," he said.

He also hopes that the new officials can carry out their duties well, and can establish synergy and communication with other Forkopimda.

AKBP Leonardus Harapantua Simarmata Permata said that in carrying out his new duties, he wanted to continue various programs that had been carried out by previous officials.

"And increase synergy with the three pillars, namely the TNI, Malang City Government and other stakeholders," said the former Batu Police Chief.

In addition, his party will also target several potential vulnerabilities of other criminal cases. Starting from motor vehicle theft (curanmor), street crimes and others.

"As is known, Malang Raya is one of the tourist destinations. We will provide comfort to the people who visit here, both for work visits and tourist visits," he said.

Meanwhile, Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of the Malang City Police which had been proposed for a long time. With the changes, he hopes that vigilance can continue to be strengthened.

"So that togetherness can run well and make the atmosphere of Malang City more conducive. Hopefully this will be a concern and become even better," he added.

Sutiaji also gave his appreciation for the cooperation that has been established between the Malang City Government and the Malang City Police. "We have fought together to advance Malang City while maintaining its conducive situation. Hopefully in the future this cooperation will continue to run well," he said. (Ts/yon)
