Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – As is known, the strength of the Muharto Bridge is only around 40 percent and until now the bridge is under repair. In relation to this, access in this area will be completely closed from 15-21 December 2019. This closure is intended so that the repair process runs optimally and so that the bridge can function and have its original strength.
In relation to the plan to close the access, the Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub), Dr. Handi Priyanto, AP, M.Si said that the request for closure was based on instructions from the Malang City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR). "We from Dishub only help with what is needed, such as placing officers in the area," he explained, Monday (9/12/2019).
However, Handi said the closure of the bridge access is not enforced for 24 hours, but from 07.30 WIB to 18.00 WIB. "Then from 18.00 to 07.30 WIB the next road access will be opened one lane and only two-wheeled vehicles are allowed to pass," he added.
When the access closure begins, Handi said that his party will install a special board on the road leading to the Muharto Bridge so that drivers can know and obey the rules that apply. "We will also place officers in the bridge area, so that we can minimize the possibility of congestion," he continued.
Separately, the Head of Malang City PUPR Ir. Hadi Santoso explained that closing access for several days was very necessary so that the bridge repair process could run optimally.
"When the road is completely closed, we involve or deploy heavy equipment so that it is impossible for the road not to be closed, because it will certainly interfere with road users.
