Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Mothers who are members of several communities held an activity to commemorate Mother's Day 2019 at a mall in Malang City, Sunday (22/12/2019) wearing kebaya.
The activity, which was attended by the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP, Widayati, S.Sos, MM, was not just to celebrate Mother's Day, but also to carry a message of pride in kebaya clothing, which is a traditional Indonesian clothing.
Like batik, as an Indonesian nation we should also be proud to have a unique clothing in the form of kebaya. If the Japanese have Kimono, then the Javanese should be proud of kebaya clothing, and this culture should be inherited and continued by the young.
Therefore, this Mother's Day celebration carries the message that there are still many women who love and preserve the unique and elegant kebaya fashion.
The statement was confirmed by the head of TP PKK Malang City Widayati, S.Sos, MM when met after the event. According to her, when women wear kebaya they will look elegant and help preserve and maintain the nation's cultural heritage.
"This tradition must also be continued by the younger generation as future leaders so that this culture does not die out," he said.
Regarding this, the woman wearing the hijab said that in the future, ASN in the Malang City Government environment will also be required to wear kebaya on certain days.
"This campaign is planned to also involve other parties, such as mall employees to private institutions. A program like this is very much needed," explained Widayati.
Furthermore, the friendly woman said that in relation to this, considering the increasingly high flow of information technology, mothers are also required to be smarter and more selective so that their children become a proud generation of the nation.
"The key to the success of a household and also children is determined by the big role of a mother," said the wife of the Mayor of Malang.
As a form of appreciation, the organizers of this Mother's Day celebration gave appreciation to mothers who wore unique and natural kebaya clothes. After the representatives of the mothers read their poems, they distributed various household appliances to mothers visiting the mall.
This appreciation also reminds us that December 22nd is Mother's Day which must be celebrated well. Although they looked surprised, the housewives who received the gifts were happy and did not expect to receive gifts. (say/yon)
