Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government is streamlining the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) to maximize performance. This follows up on the enactment of the new regulation on the Work Organizational Structure (SOTK) which has been enforced since early 2020.

"The regulation refers to Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2019 regarding the amendment to Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2016 concerning the Formation and Composition of Regional Apparatus," explained Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji, Friday (03/02/2020).
The six OPDs that were merged were the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Department which was the result of the merger between DPUPR and Disperkim. The Manpower, Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Department, namely the merger of the Manpower Department with the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Department.
The Education Office merged with the Culture and Tourism Office, becoming the Malang City Education and Culture Office. The Social, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office is the result of the merger of the Social Office and the Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office.
Furthermore, the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service is the result of the merger of three services at once, namely the Cooperatives and Micro Business Service, the Industry Service and the Trade Service. While the Youth, Sports and Tourism Service is the result of the merger of the Youth and Sports Service with the Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar).
The Mayor of Malang said that in the OPD resulting from the merger, all the department head positions have been filled, except for two, namely the Health Department and the Food Security and Agriculture Department, which will later be... open bidding (job auction).
