Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Although so far in the Malang City, Malang Regency and Batu City areas, no residents have been detected infected with the corona virus, various efforts have been made so that the dangerous virus does not spread further. Such as that carried out by the Technical Implementation Unit of Abdurrachman Saleh Malang Airport which has installed a body temperature detection device (Thermal Scanner) in the passenger arrival area since a few days ago.

This tool, which resembles a CCTV camera and is connected to a monitor screen, will detect and record the body temperature of every passenger who arrives. Every day there is one doctor, two nurses and two quarantine health officers on duty. If there is a passenger whose body temperature is above 38 degrees Celsius, there will be a red mark on the monitor screen and the officer will immediately evacuate the person concerned.
Head of Aviation Security Section of Abdurrachman Saleh Malang Airport, Andhika Nur Sudigda, Wednesday (29/02/2020) said that the installation of this device is not limited by time and is adjusted to conditions in the field. According to him, if it is felt that the spread of the corona virus has been declared safe, then the body temperature detector will be removed.
For other anticipation, this airport has also prepared a special room if there are passengers who are indicated to have the virus. "This room is for initial handling and to ensure whether someone is positive for the corona virus or not, and before the person is referred to the hospital," added Andhika.
Although so far no passengers have been detected, he said, detection is still being carried out intensively by officers. "We hope that the dangerous virus will not reach Malang and its surroundings. Therefore, all citizens should be more careful and vigilant," said Andhika.
A similar statement was also conveyed by Rahmatul Nur Cahyaningsih, one of the health quarantine officers who was carrying out her duties at the airport. She said that this body temperature detector can detect a person's temperature from a distance of about 25 meters. This woman in a hijab also advised residents to always wear masks or mouth covers, especially when in crowded places to anticipate the transmission of this corona virus. (say/yon)
