Cimahi (malangkota.go.id) – Cimahi City became the center of the 'Joint Movement Towards TB Elimination 2030' activity which was attended and launched directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo. The activity which was held at Cimahi Techno Park, Cimahi City, West Java (29/1/2020) was also attended by 34 governors, 119 regents and mayors throughout Indonesia and a number of Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

In addition to attending the Joint Movement Towards TB Elimination 2030, President Jokowi and his entourage also plan to attend the symbolic distribution of the Family Hope Program (PKH) at Rajawali Field, Cimahi City, and check the Jompong Waterfall in Nanjung, Bandung Regency.
Indonesia is the third highest country with TB cases. The first highest is India and followed by China. This note is also a special concern of the government which is actualized through the TB elimination movement. Indonesian Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto in his introduction stated that the realization of a healthy residential environment is one of the supporting factors to prevent the spread of TB.
“The focus is not on treatment, but prevention. That means creating a healthy environment. Drainage repair is also very important. Waste management is also very important. Building healthy settlements is also important. This means that health matters are not only the affairs of the Ministry of Health and/or the Health Service. But also the affairs of other ministries and/or services, including PUPR,” President Joko Widodo emphasized.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko who was present accompanied by Acting Head of the Malang City Health Office, Sri Winarni stated that prevention and control efforts remain a concern in handling TB. As reported in the data at the Malang City Health Office, data was captured up to January 27, 2019, the number of TB sufferers in Malang City was 2.218 patients, and of that number, 331 had recovered after intensive assistance and consistent treatment. "Meanwhile, 540 patients are in the treatment process and hopefully they will recover like the previous 331 patients," explained Acting Head of the Malang City Health Office, Sri Winarni.
"The focus of TB prevention and control is case finding and treatment. Therefore, I ask the Health Office to record TB sufferers, treat them as well as possible or the term TOSS (Find, Treat Until Cured). Until cured, it really has to be cured to avoid resistance," said Bung Edi, on the sidelines of attending the launch of the Joint Movement Towards TB Elimination 2030 in Cimahi.
Prevent and control, according to Sofyan Edi, as a form of early prevention steps. He added, early detection activities are in line with the spirit of the healthy living community movement (Germas). This movement needs to be an integrated activity and strengthen the Healthy Indonesia program through a family approach (PIS-PK).
Bung Edi also said that the Posyandu cadres of Malang City, and supported by Muslimat and Aisyiah mothers of Malang City have also made a Knock on the Door (going directly to houses) effort to check for TB symptoms from patient contacts. From such activities, the steps for healing efforts are optimized, while also recording data. (public relations/yon)
