Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – While giving a guest lecture at Brawijaya University Malang, Monday (03/02/2020), the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo said that the potential of today's youth is very good. One of them is the growing creative economy sector which is mostly dominated by young people, such as online markets and various online-based services.

Perry gave an example of cities labeled as education, such as in Malang City, which has many well-known universities and most of its graduates are reluctant to return to their hometowns. "Those who already feel comfortable, because they have creative businesses, must really be utilized and facilitated so that they can also become levers for economic growth," he added.

If this is not done, he said, it will actually become a new problem or will become an obstacle and burden for the progress of the economy. "One step that can be taken is between academics, business and government must synergize and have one vision. Thus, the industry based on the world of education, agribusiness and tourism will be a buffer for global economic growth," Perry explained.

He further said that so far the Indonesian economy has grown well, where in 2019 it was at 5,1 percent and in 2020 it is predicted to increase and be at 5,5 percent. "If the three elements synergize and carry out their respective roles well, then the economic growth target is not just a dream, but will be realized well," Perry emphasized.

After inaugurating the management of the Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI) for the 2020-2023 period, the Governor of Bank Indonesia who is also the general chairman, invited its members to contribute positively to this nation. From the newly inaugurated management of the organization, it should not just be a formal organization, but should have concrete programs and steps, especially in spurring global economic growth.

The same thing was also conveyed by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko. He also hopes that the existence of ISEI will also bring a positive impact to the city of Malang. Likewise with the level of creativity of the young people in the city of Malang, the bespectacled man will also encourage so that in the future many creative young people will emerge.

"Malang City has indeed been named as a creative city, and in this city many new quality and competitive startups have emerged, so it is not surprising that Malang City has become one of the levers of economic growth," concluded the man who is familiarly called Bung Edi. (say/yon)
