3R Facilitator of Blimbing District Intensifies Socialization of Waste Management

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – After officially having the Blimbing Sinam Waste Bank, the F3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Facilitator) of Blimbing District has become more active in conducting outreach, including how to process organic and inorganic waste starting from the smallest environment, namely the home.

F3R Unit Bank Sampah Kecamatan Blimbing, Ernik Yustian revealed that although it is often echoed so far, many people are still ignorant about how to handle plastic waste. Therefore, his party never tires of continuing to share Blimbing's knowledge on how to handle household waste, both plastic and organic.

"Like when getting mineral water glass waste, most people just put it there. In fact, to be processed into plastic pellets, it needs to be cleaned first," explained Yustin, Ernik Yustian's nickname, Wednesday (12/2/2020).

Not only cleaned, mineral water glasses should also be cut into pieces first, then separated from the body of the glass. Where later the top circle can be processed into crafts while the body of the glass is made into plastic pellets. "Small things like handling used mineral water glasses like what we are currently doing intensively," explained Yustin.

Not only that, Yustin added that the community is also continuously taught how to separate organic and inorganic waste from home. Through this method, it is hoped that it can reduce or even eliminate household waste that must be disposed of at the Final Disposal Site (TPA).

Yustin admitted that he could change mindset people who still do not know much about how to handle waste is indeed not as easy as turning the palm of your hand. Therefore, various steps continue to be taken by the F3R Malang City team. "Including in Blimbing District which has customers from 11 sub-districts, it is currently being increasingly actively socialized," said Yustin.

By continuing to be socialized, both to ASN, students, and also to the community in RT/RW or sub-district activities, it is hoped that education on proper waste management starting from home can become a culture more quickly. If everything goes smoothly, it will be easier to overcome the accumulation of waste which has so far been a common problem. (cah/yon)
