Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko appreciated the holding of the elderly choir competition driven by the Paguyuban Adiyuswa of Malang City. According to him, the activity held at the Gereja Kristen Tuhan Jemaat III on Jl. Pahlawan Trip no. 4 Malang City, Friday (13/03/2020) is worthy of being held often as a forum or space for appreciation for the elderly.
The bespectacled man added that a program like this is also in line with one of Malang City's visions as an Elderly-Friendly City so that the talents and interests of the elderly are accommodated through events like this. "No less important, by holding this event, Christians will get to know each other which will ultimately strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between them," added Sofyan Edi.
The man who is often called Bung Edi added, later through this event, it is hoped that the elderly will be happier and can fill their lives with joyful things. "On the other hand, of course this event will increase the life expectancy of the elderly, where in Malang City it is currently at 72 years. In the future, that number will increase along with the improving health conditions of the elderly," he continued.
In the lives of these elderly people, said Bung Edi, it should be filled with pleasant or joyful things to increase their high spirit of life or optimism and ultimately their life expectancy will also increase. "From this event, it is also proof that even though they are entering and or are elderly, they can still work and show something that is best," he explained.
The same thing was also conveyed by Diah, one of the committee members who was also a member of the jury for this choir competition. The bespectacled woman also praised the participants for their enthusiasm and quite stunning performances. "Of course we are proud of the performances of all participants, and this is real proof that the elderly still have productivity," she said. (say/yon)
