Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang Arts Council (DKM) is a forum for artists in this City of Education so that artists can express themselves and produce their best works.

However, the reduced activity at DKM made the administrators and members of DKM hold an event entitled an exchange of works by Malang City artists at the entrance to the Malang City DPRD Building, Monday (16/03/2020).
The event, which will be held for the next four days, will be attended by dozens of music artists, including dance and painting artists. With the display of dozens of paintings which are the works of senior and junior artists as well as proof that Malang City artists can still produce good works.
The chairman of DKM, Bobby Nugroho, also continues to strive so that artists in this city can continue to work and produce many talented young artists. As in this event, a number of young artists were invited to enliven the event held at the people's building. "For visitors, they will also be educated to be more interested in the world of art, so that new artists will grow," he said.
Not only will they hold events outside, Bobby added, DKM members will also be more active in holding activities in their office on Jalan Majapahit in the future. Such as photo and painting exhibitions that will invite many students. "Those who have works will also be accommodated and if possible need further learning without being charged any fees," he continued.
A similar statement was also conveyed by one of the visual artists, Tatik Simanjuntak, who said that she would do anything so that DKM continues to advance and develop. "We are ready to provide literacy and/or education to students, for example, so that these young people love the world of art more. We will also work as hard as possible so that our existence continues to emerge and is known to the public," she explained.
This event received appreciation from the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko who was also appointed to open the event. According to him, what these artists have done deserves positive appreciation and is always held. "The works of the artists, both young and senior, are very good and this is a great potential for this city," he said.
In this artist's work exchange, several paintings and cloth umbrellas painted by the city's umbrella maestro, namely grandfather Maimun, will be auctioned. The proceeds from the sale will be used as additional medical expenses for grandfather Mun who is currently sick. (say/ram/yon)
