From the Covid-19 virus outbreak that is still haunting the community, until now the East Java Provincial Government Hospital has received ten patients under surveillance (PDP) and eight people have had their test results sent to the Ministry of Health's Balitbangkes. The results showed that six people were declared negative and two people were confirmed positive for the Covid-19 virus.
Of the eight people, three died, two of whom tested negative, one tested positive, and one tested positive for Covid-19. The positive patient is now being treated intensively and his condition continues to improve.
Those were some of the things conveyed by the Deputy Director of RSSA Malang, dr. Syaifullah Asmiragani, Wednesday (18/03/2020) when giving a press statement to the media crew in the Majapahit Room of RSSA Malang. One day earlier, Tuesday (17/3/2020) yesterday, he said that the hospital received two additional patients under surveillance and currently the test results are still being sent to the Ministry of Health's Balitbangkes. The results are expected to be out in the next four days.
In RSSA, Syaifullah explained, a maximum of 60 patients under surveillance (PDP) for Covid-19 can be handled and if more than that, they will be transferred to other referral hospitals according to the direction or orders of the East Java Provincial Government and the central government. Likewise, with the limited assistance of personal protective equipment for medical personnel from the government, the hospital has received partners to make their own in order to anticipate the surge in suspected and positive Covid-19 patients.
Regarding this, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, said that his party was very grateful for the coordination of various parties to handle and suppress the spread of this dangerous virus. "We have also formed a special task force, so that information about this virus will be one door later," he said.
Meanwhile, a number of hospitals in Malang City are also prepared to anticipate, such as Lavalette Hospital, Dr. Soepraoen Army Hospital, Panti Waluyo Hospital and the Regional General Hospital owned by the Malang City Government. In addition, dozens of health centers and clinics are also on standby to help with initial patient care, if there are suspected people under monitoring (ODP) to anticipatory steps such as initial examinations.
