Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Until now, the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical personnel in a number of hospitals is still very high, especially hospitals that are referrals for handling Covid-19 patients. Several hospitals must also innovate and collaborate with a number of parties to meet the need for personal protective equipment, because currently PPE on the market is quite rare and its price is soaring.

This phenomenon also occurred and was experienced by the dr. Saiful Anwar Malang Regional General Hospital which is one of the referral hospitals in handling Covid-19 patients. Referring to these various things, a number of communities in Malang City who are members of the Team Doing for Malang were moved and aware to provide donations of personal protective equipment and nutritious food for medical personnel.
Team coordinator, Isbachul Choir after handing over aid, Monday (13/04/2020) said that his party wanted to do something for handling Covid-19 patients. According to him, medical personnel in hospitals are the front line in handling patients and some of them even lost their lives. "Incidents like that are very sad and must be prevented as much as possible," he added.
Not only hoping that the treatment of patients can be cured and suppress the increase in positive Covid-19 patients, explained Choir, but medical personnel must have maximum security. In this context, personal protective equipment for medical personnel must meet standards so that a number of communities have joined and agreed to donate personal protective equipment and nutritious food for them.
Choir further said that such assistance will be distributed continuously and adjusted to the level of hospital needs. Such as ambulances, sending swab results to Unair Hospital Surabaya and coffin assistance.
Even members of this community are committed and willing to send their members as volunteers to be trained in handling positive Covid-19 patients, such as in handling corpses until their burial.
All of this is appreciated by the hospital, because there are still many communities or third parties who care about the medical personnel who are currently fighting against the Covid-19 virus. "Medical personnel are the front line, where they try their best to cure the patients they treat," said Dr. Setya Budiono. (say/yon)
